‘Saltbush’, designed by Phillip Withers and constructed by Longview Landscapes, began as a contemporary take on residential landscape design — earning recognition at the 2024 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show before finding a permanent home as ‘Saltbush on the Bellarine’ in East Geelong.
The project demonstrates how recycled and local materials, native planting, and considered design can build lasting connections between a family and the landscape around them. Intercepting waste streams was central to its philosophy — the hardscaping, softscaping, and features from the Show garden were transported and reimagined into a family-oriented garden built to endure.
